MOHAWK 4 ICE CENTRE
The Mohawk 4 Ice Centre is the center piece of the largest recreation complex in the Greater Hamilton Area and is the place to play for over 1.5 million visitors every year. The year-round facility boasts 4 NHL sized ice surfaces, a full-service restaurant, concession, sports retail outlet and multi-purpose community room. Nustadia Recreation Inc. (Nustadia) partnered with the City of Hamilton and the ice users of the community to develop and operate this recreational four-pad arena. Nustadia acted as the development managers and operators for the facility, which was constructed in 11 months, on time, and on budget. This facility was developed and operated with no impact to the tax base of the host community. The building generates a modest annual profit (approximately $100K to $200K) after all operating expenses including contributions to a capital reserve fund and debt servicing $11 M.
