The first metal arena in Abitibi-Ouest, the Recreation Center has since been the place where sports clubs of all kinds and supporters meet, where victories are celebrated and where defeats are regretted. In 1970 , in order to meet an increasingly long schedule, the Recreation Center was modernized with an ice cooling system. We can now use the rink longer during the season with our new artificial ice. In the early 1990s , major renovations were carried out around the ice rink. The players' rooms and stands were demolished and new structures were rebuilt to offer the same amenities, but in a much more modern way! In September 2005 , the City of Macamic abandoned the name Recreation Center and renamed the arena the Joachim - Tremblay Center in honor of the man who worked, among other things, for 15 years as recreation director and the following four years as general manager of the City of Macamic.
